Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 8, 2026

This policy explains what data Vid Sharpei ("we", "us") collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We collect as little as we can: no advertising trackers, no selling of data, and no cookies placed on your visitors' browsers by our player.

1. Data we collect from account holders

  • Account data. Your email address and a password. Passwords are stored in hashed form by our authentication provider; we never see them in plain text.
  • Content and settings. The video links you add and the player settings you choose (colors, cover images, messages, buttons). This is the product working as intended.
  • Billing data. Payments are processed by Paddle.com, our merchant of record. Paddle collects your payment details and billing address under its own privacy policy; we receive only your plan, subscription status, and Paddle customer reference. We never see or store card numbers.
  • Support email. If you write to us, we keep the correspondence so we can help you.

2. Data we collect from viewers of embedded players

When someone visits a page that uses a Vid Sharpei player, our player records two anonymous counters: that the player loaded (an impression) and that it was played. Along with each event we store the website address (hostname) of the page the player is embedded on. That is all. Our player does not set cookies for viewers, does not record IP addresses in our database, and does not build viewer profiles.

When a viewer presses play, the video itself is delivered by the platform that hosts it, using that platform's privacy-enhanced embed. From that moment the hosting platform processes data under its own privacy policy. Before play is pressed, nothing loads from the hosting platform.

3. Cookies and local storage

On our own website we use a session cookie to keep you signed in to your dashboard, and your browser's local storage to remember your light or dark theme choice, your cookie decision and similar interface preferences. These are necessary for the site to work as you asked it to, so they are set without a prompt. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Analytics. We use Google Tag Manager to understand which pages are useful. It sets cookies and receives your IP address. If you are visiting from the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, we ask first and it is not loaded at all until you agree to it. Elsewhere it loads by default, as local rules allow, and you can turn it off whenever you like. Either way the “Cookie choices” link in the footer of every page lets you change your mind, and declining leaves the site fully usable.

Sample video players. Our home page shows side-by-side comparisons that include standard embeds loaded directly from YouTube, so you can see how they behave. Those load with the page, and YouTube receives your IP address when they do. The preview images for our own player are served from our servers rather than from YouTube. If you would rather not load them, you can avoid our home page; every other page works without them.

4. Where data is stored and who processes it

  • Supabase hosts our database and authentication (account data, video settings, anonymous player statistics).
  • Paddle processes payments and invoices as merchant of record.
  • Google receives your IP address through Tag Manager once you have agreed to it, and through the sample video players on our home page, as described in section 3.
  • Our hosting provider serves the website and may keep standard technical server logs (such as IP addresses) for a short period for security and troubleshooting.

We do not sell or rent personal data to anyone.

5. How long we keep data

We keep your account data and settings while your account exists. Anonymous player statistics are kept to power your dashboard analytics. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data within a reasonable period, except records we must keep for legal or accounting reasons.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email us at info@yellowlamp.shop and we will respond promptly. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

7. Children

The Service is intended for adults running websites and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

8. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we will notify account holders by email or in the dashboard before the change takes effect.
